I had the honour of creating a live painting at the 2003 Champions Dinner at The Dorchester, an event that brought together all 31 members of England’s Rugby World Cup–winning squad. The piece celebrated their historic victory in Australia and the legacy of one of the nation’s most iconic sporting achievements.
The painting featured real 24-karat gold, used to highlight key elements of the composition and to reflect the significance of the occasion. Throughout the evening, guests were able to watch the artwork develop in real time as I worked from the first lines to the final details.
It was a privilege to contribute a piece that marked such an important moment in English rugby and to create it in the presence of the players who made history in 2003. I am pleased to say this piece has now sold.
