“Sir Bobby the Great, Italia 90”

This painting depicts Sir Bobby Robson the greatest England manager since Alf Ramsey to lead England in a world cup tournament. In 1990 England had a tremendous run, almost reaching the final of the competition eventually losing to Germany in the semi-finals on penalties. In this painting Mosley tries to capture the charisma of Robson and the passion that was so evident in the man. Bobby Robson was a truly inspirational character whose passion, integrity and knowledge of the game were second to none. A legend of world football and one of sport’s greatest gentlemen, “Sir Bobby The Great” is a painting that hopefully does Sir Bobby Robson justice and portrays him in an exciting dynamic light and is a celebration of the man.
