“I am passionate about being involved with TEAM GB because their values represent everything that’s good in human nature and sportsmanship.”
In March 2020 Ben painted RORY GIBBS and MATT ROSSITER battling it out with MOE SBIHI and OLLIE WYNNE GRIFFITH in the men’s pairs A final at the Olympic Trials. With the onset of a national lockdown causing constraints for live attendance, Ben, ever resourceful, was still able to capture the drama and excitement of the trials by painting the rowers remotely.
In 2012, Ben painted various athletes at the London Olympics. He painted the men’s rowing four winning gold, finishing the painting just a few hours after their triumph. As an official artist for Team GB, Ben created a medal moments mural on Carnaby Street in London. He painted a mural depicting all 65 medal wins for Team GB, out in Tokyo. The full write-up of his mural can be found here.
