Day 2 – Lion’s Pride

The second day at the Team GB popup, saw me begin the task of painting in some key sports, venues and, of course, the addition of some of our incredible athletes. With Team GB having taken to the shooting range in the morning, it felt fitting to add in some of stars from this sport.

The Olympic rings sit atop the mural, with jubilance and celebration being shown from all of the crowd, including the native following. The Japanese flag and Japanese symbols (meaning: Tokyo 2020) are used in the piece for – though the two nations are committed competitors – there is a mutual respect for all.

Expanding upon the Team GB lion head logo, I’ve shown the full beast, standing proud and looking ferocious. On his right foreleg, sits the word, ‘PRIDE’. On the left, ‘WE ARE TEAM GB’. The ultimate allegory for us; we command respect and, through our performances, we strike fear into our opponents.
