ITV Meridian visited Ben, to film him painting his latest addition to the mural, “Football’s Coming Home” on Friday 9th July.

Ben, who has already painted two murals at Wembley Stadium, has dedicated the wall of his house to Gareth Southgate’s heroes, as they bid to win their first major final in 55 years.

Ben said, “Gareth Southgate is an absolute gentleman. Nobody deserves it more then he does, after taking us to 4 semi-finals and a final, as a player and manager”.

“After what happened to him, in 1996, it will be a tremendous victory for him and a fairytale ending to all England fans to see us lift our first major trophy for more than half a century”.

“It’s quite unusual for an artist to paint a mural on his own wall”, Ben explains. “If it wasn’t for Covid I would have found a more public, prominent wall to paint and to celebrate England’s great achievements throughout this incredible journey. However, my wall is big, was available and I could get to it straight away, showing my love and enthusiasm for the England team and the beautiful game. I’ve been painting about the England football team for 20 years now, so to see England successful means everything”.

Ben – who will continue his mural into next week – will explore the possibility of selling it as an NFT, should England prove victorious.
