Thursday saw Team GB grab an excellent bronze in the men’s trap shooting event, for Matthew Coward-Holley and an outstanding silver for Mallory Franklin in the canoe slalom.

I illustrated both of the medallists, deep in the heat of battle, surrounded by an crowd, coloured with the same palette as the olympics rings; blue, yellow, black, green and red.

As with all the medallists, both of the medals are made with the use of real precious metals, adding to the lustre of the overall piece.

Absolutely loving painting some less well know sports, that many people – myself included – aren’t often exposed to.
