Day 8 – Fantastic Friday

Another day, another 6 medals to add the ever growing mural. At this point in the games, it’s fair to wonder if – despite having a very deep popup gallery – we have enough room… Haha.

What an amazing problem to have. Today was another day with some amazing tales to tell. Bethany Shriever, having self-funded so much of her journey, stunning the world with a gold in the women’s BMX and the – newly crowned Prince of Peckham – Kye White, also grabbing a silver to round up, not only a fantastic day at the track, but also a fantastic day for the sport.

I’ve tried to express the determination and the celebration of those athletes. This was followed up with me adding the amazing bronze in the trampolining for Bryony Page, Luke Greenbank’s backstroke bronze, the additional silver for Duncan Scott in the men’s 200m medley and the bronze for the 8 man rowing. Phew! Quite the haul, but what a great day for the team and a great day down at Carnaby Street.
