Day 9 – Record Breakers

British Swimming deserve an incredible amount of credit. What a fantastic games for Team GB in the pool. Duncan Scott finished the games with an incredible 4 medals, the most accrued over any single games by a Briton.

Kathleen Dawson, Adam Peaty, James Guy and Anna Hopkin took gold in the first ever Olympic mixed medley relay, setting a new world record in the process.

Team GB also saw our male and female triathletes team up to win a gold in the mixed triathlon relay. Another incredible story unfolding, with Jonathan Brownlee finally getting that – ever so elusive – gold medal to add to his silver and bronze, in his last Olympic race. Other medal winning moments added to the mural included Karriss Artingstall winning a bronze in the boxing and Emma Wilson winning a wind surfing bronze! Another busy day, for yours truly and I love it!

This truly has been an Olympics for the ages so far, so many tales of redemption and overcoming adversity, providing the ultimate summer feel good factor for the country. I’m incredibly proud of each and every athlete, it’s a pleasure to see them all doing so, so well.
