Meeting Hugh Grant- Painting him Live at Ten Trinity Square London!!

Wow, what a terrific honour it was to meet Hollywood royalty in Hugh grant!! An absolute gentleman. He was present for an amazing event at Ten Trinity Square in London, for a terrific charity Hacked Off which does tremendous work standing up for a free and accountable press. I decided to call my painting “Four Hugh” because there are four versions of him and the piece is a tribute to his glittering career. One of Britain’s most famous all time actors, it was always going to be a challenge to come up with something that did him justice, but in the end I decided on Four weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love actually and my personal favourite Mickey Blue Eyes. Lots of real 24k gold in this piece. It was a pleasure to talk to Hugh and I even did my own impression of “Get the heell Out of Here” a line from the film which I love, it such a funny film. Hugh is a very very decent and nice man and It was a true privilege to create this piece of him especially when I’ve grown up watching his films. It is something that will stay with me forever. He was also kind enough to sign my painting as well. It went for great money and was auctioned off by the excellent Tom Forrester from bargain Hunt!! What an absolutely tremendous guy he is and his wonderful wife is also really lovely as well. Huge thanks to them for being so incredibly supportive throughout the whole evening. It was a also great to see Sting perform some of his huge hits and for a short while, while I was setting up, I was alone in the room with Sting while he practiced his set and played his mega hits and I started my painting. Not many people could probably say they were in a room with Sting on their own listening to his amazing songs. It was humbling to be in his presence. The night was an amazing evening and one I’ll never forget. Here are some of my favourite photos from an incredible event. A massive thanks to all involved and for having me
